I’ve not posted for a while and it seems very strange. From the intense daily postings during my uni days to the occasional ones over the summer I’ve experienced a sense of loss. But once September comes my life will return to one of routine and I would like to do some sort of daily project once again. Not sure what at this stage.
I’ve been spending many hours on the train travelling from one side of the country to the other – the journey takes about five and a half hours door to door and I’ve been doing it twice a week for the past 5 weeks – so I’ve had time to look at other people’s websites.
I always enjoy reading Hannah Lamb‘s as I referenced some of her work in my uni portfolio. She blogged about a seminar she’d attended and I followed the link to read about the Cloth & Memory exhibition. I was fascinated to hear Beverly Ayling-Smith talk about our relationship with cloth – how we are wrapped in it from the moment we are born to the time we die and after. The memories caught up in the fabrics – a little like the memories I was hoping to capture in my knitted diary.
The reading has given me food for thought!
