At last a sunny day! In order not to miss it I was walking in the park by 9.30 and, as usual, was scouting round for my image of the day. I was drawn to the monkey puzzle tree – well, it has so much texture.
When I was young I grew up in an East Midlands village which expanded greatly in the late Victorian era and several houses had the de rigueur tree in their gardens. I was fascinated by it then and have not lost the urge to touch one when I can. I took several photos and the one I’ve chosen is a close-up – I couldn’t resist capturing the lichen growing on the leaves and the colouration – the greens and purples.
