Julian Stair Quietus

Today I went to hear Julian Stair talk about his work. As I walked to the National Musuem I thought how fortunate I was, to be able to attend such a talk for free.

Julian was engaging as he spoke about his work; his concepts and methods. He emphasised he was very much a potter – ‘The physical action of the maker transferred to the physical touch of the viewer.’ ‘To understand through touch and tactile.’

Although the layout at Cardiff is different to that at Middlesborough this review by Shane Enright published in Crafts Magazine captures the essence.
