Festival of Quilts

I’ve not been to see this wonderful exhibition of textile work for a couple of years so jumped at the chance to join Busy Bees on the coach.

The 6 hours I was there wasn’t enough for me to see everything – I gave most of the stalls a miss and concentrated on the more contemporary work. Although I appreciate the skill needed to produce a traditional quilt it’s not for me.

Here is a selection of work that caught my eye. Unfortunately it wasn’t until I uploaded the images onto my laptop that I realised my camera reverted back to default after ‘snoozing’ so the settings were wrong to take good pictures. But just a reminder for me.

We must sell the house of our parents
A last walk through the garden
Its autumn, I’ve found an honesty.
It looks like an ugly plant, but the inside is a surprise:
Fragile, shiny, seeds.
Life goes on with precious memories.

Every day I sew cloth, piece by piece. This laborious production takes all my time. It becomes my life itself.
